For the fifth year, Chinburg Properties, Newmarket, has earned a Sustained Excellence Award through the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Parnter of the Year Awards. It was one of a limited number of companies nationwide to do so. Chinburg earned Energy Star certification for its single-family construction as well as for two of its larger multi-unit developments, the Brewery 145 project with 92 apartments in Portsmouth, and the Scenic Salinger building with 50 apartments in Rochester.
JSA Designa Portsmouth architecture, planning and interior design firm, has added two new staff members, Heidi Smith as interior designer and Karen Morse as accounting and office manager. A resident of Maine, Smith has extensive healthcare design experience as a former interior designer and construction administration coordinator with Cannon Design in Boston. Morse previously worked in administrative positions in the senior living industry, most recently as business office director for Windsor Place of Wilmington, an independent / assisted living and memory care community in Wilmington, Mass.
The NH Preservation Alliance will present an Old Building & Trades Fair at Sanborn Mills Farm, Loudon, from 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday, May 14. The event will feature opportunities to observe traditional tradespeople at work and a chance to connect with trades organizations and experts who can help you understand the issues faced by stewards of older buildings. Online preregistration will continue through Thursday, May 12, with tickets $ 15 for general admission and $ 7 for students and seniors. Tickets for admission on the day of the event will be $ 20.
