Entrepreneurs open ‘The Tipsy Imp’ pop-up bar service in Lincoln

A new pop-up bar has officially taken off in Lincoln by two born and bred Lincolnshire entrepreneurs. The Tipsy Imp will provide bar service for events in Lincoln and surrounding areas and has been set up by Dan Taylor, 33, who also works full time as the East Midlands account manager for Small Beer.

The bar can be booked for events from garden parties, to weddings and christenings. It is run by both Mr Taylor and his family friend of several years, Sam Field, 40, who has also always lived in Lincolnshire and has set up, invested in and sold several companies.

Mr Taylor said that because of his link to work, he will be able to access a variety of drinks for clients which adds a “bespoke element” to what the pop-up bar offers. He said: “We’ve got access to a lot of different wines, spirits and soft drinks that aren’t your regular run of the mill stuff.

“I’m feeling very positive and if there’s any summer to try something like this it would be this one with everyone getting back out. I wanted to have my own thing on the side.

“The name came from the fact I’ve been a Lincoln fan all my life and it’s twinned with working in the beer industry.” He added: “It gives you the experience of having conversations with people and meeting people.

“We’ve got a horsebox bar that is kitted out and is available for events. We’ve also got standalone bars and a gazebo which we can set up for longer events.”

Mr Taylor said his girlfriend, Sarah Roberson, has been very supportive in helping him get the business set up and helping him with the paperwork since he started the ball rolling back in March.

People who are interested in booking the pop-up bar service can contact Mr Taylor and Mr Field through enquiries@thetipsyimp.co.uk.
